Die Plain White T's spielen einen Up-Beat-Pop-Musikstil mit Songs wie A Lonely September oder Take Me Away und haben bisher sechs Studioalben produziert. Ihr Album Every Second Counts wurde am 12. September 2006 veröffentlicht und enthält ein Re-Release des bereits 2005 auf dem Album All That We Needed veröffentlichten Songs Hey There Delilah. 2007 stieg die Single-Auskopplung des Songs auf Platz 1 der Charts in Deutschland und den USA. Außerdem erhielten sie 2008 für den Song Hey There Delilah eine Nominierung für den Grammy.[1] Damit ist Hey There Delilah die bis heute erfolgreichste Single von Plain White T's. Die Band steuerte mit Our Time Now den Titelsong für die TV-Serie Greek bei. Außerdem hatte die Band in der US-Serie iCarly einige Gastauftritte.

Christina Perri wuchs in Bensalem in einer Friseurfamilie auf. Im Alter von 8 Jahren begann sie mit Klavierunterricht, den ihr Lehrer namens Gerhard Chloe aber beendete, weil sie die Musik nach eigenen Vorstellungen änderte. Als Jugendliche ließ sich Perri die Vornamen der Beatles ums linke Handgelenk tätowieren.[2] Das Gitarrespielen brachte sie sich mit Hilfe eines Videos von Blind Melon selbst bei. Aus den ersten vier gelernten Akkorden entstand ihr erster Song The Perfect Man. Später arbeitete Perri für die Rockband ihres älteren Bruders Nick auf Tournee, bis sie ein Stipendium für die Kunsthochschule bekam. Vom Studium nahm sie bereits nach einem Jahr eine Auszeit, um die große Verwandtschaft väterlicherseits in Italien zu besuchen. An ihrem 21. Geburtstag zog sie nach Los Angeles, heiratete noch im selben Jahr und ließ sich 18 Monate später wieder scheiden. Sie improvisierte eigene Musikvideos und veröffentlichte sie auf YouTube. Eine befreundete Tänzerin leitete eine Aufnahme zu einem Tanzwettbewerb in Fernsehen weiter. Perri trug dort ihren Song Jar of Hearts vor, was zu einer Million Downloads und einem Plattenvertrag führte. Im November 2011 veröffentlichte sie die Single A Thousand Years, den Titelsong zum Film Breaking Dawn – Bis(s) zum Ende der Nacht – Teil 1.
