Bodenwerder is a town in Lower Saxony Landkreis Holzminden.

The city is the seat of the homonymous Bodenwerder Samtgemeinde and is located in the Weserbergland. It became known primarily as the birthplace and longtime residence of the "lies Baron Karl Friedrich Hieronymus von Munchausen.
